Migration Policy
Everything you need to know about moving your websites and data to Middlehost.
Free Migrations
We offer free migrations from your previous hosting provider under certain conditions:
cPanel-to-cPanel: If your previous host allows full backup exports, we migrate websites, emails, SSLs, and configurations.
Manual Migration: For non-cPanel hosts, we provide free manual website migration (files & databases). Note: Email migration is not included for manual transfers.
Migration Timing & Old Hosting Validity
To make sure your sites move over cleanly without any data loss, your existing hosting account needs to stay active long enough for us to complete and verify the transfer.
Minimum 72 Hours Remaining
Your old hosting account must have at least 72 hours left before suspension or expiry when you request the migration. If the account expires mid-transfer, files and databases become inaccessible and the migration cannot be completed.
Typical Turnaround: Within 24 Hours
Most migrations are completed within 24 hours of receiving your old hosting credentials. The extra buffer covers DNS propagation, post-migration testing, and any fixes needed before your site goes live on our servers.
Keep your old hosting active until we confirm the migration is finished and your site is loading correctly from our servers. Cancelling or letting it expire before then can result in lost data, broken emails, or incomplete restorations that we may not be able to recover.
Your responsibility: Even after we confirm the transfer, you should verify everything that matters on your side (for example DNS at your registrar, SSL in the browser, email send and receive, redirects, contact forms, logins, and checkout or payment flows) before you cancel or allow the old hosting to expire. Only proceed with cancellation once you are satisfied nothing still depends on the old account.

Free migration services are only available during the first 30 days of your new hosting account. If your current site is infected with malware, please review our Malware Cleanup Policy as different conditions apply based on your plan.
If you need to migrate more sites than included in your plan, or if the onboarding period has passed, we offer additional migrations at $10 per site.
Email Migration
Manual email migrations (up to 5GB per address)

Internal migrations (moving services between Middlehost accounts) are subject to the following rules to ensure fair use and prevent promotion abuse:
Eligibility Window
Free internal migrations are only offered within the first 30 days of a new account purchase.
Source Account Requirement
The existing (source) plan must have at least 60 days remaining before its expiry date. Monthly plans (source account) are not eligible for free internal migrations.
Site Limits
The same per-plan site limits shown under Manual Migration Services apply to free internal migrations. If you need more sites moved than your plan includes, or work outside the free window, additional migrations are $10 per site, consistent with manual migration pricing above.
Promotion Abuse Prevention
We reserve the right to deny free migrations aimed solely at exploiting promotional offers or trial extensions.
