Backup Policy

Understand our backup policies, including how backups are managed and what to expect after account termination.

At Middlehost, we prioritize the safety and security of your data. While our backup queues are executed daily for disaster recovery purposes, our service commitments vary by plan. It is strongly recommended that you maintain your own offsite backups as well. Our Backup Policy outlines our practices and the measures you should take to protect your data.

Backup Policy

How we secure your data and the procedures for restoration.

1

Backup Infrastructure & Commitment

Our backup queues are executed daily, but that does not mean we will always have your daily backups. Because not all accounts are backed up daily. You should opt for Daily backups if you need guaranteed daily backups.

These backups are taken primarily for disaster recovery situations only and are stored in geographically separate locations to ensure data safety in extreme scenarios.

Cheap Plans

Weekly backup commitment.

Business Plans

Weekly backup commitment (Default). Daily backups available as an add-on.

Client Responsibility: It is highly recommended that you maintain your own local (downloaded to your pc) or offsite backups for added redundancy.

Prohibited

Storing backups locally on the hosting server or using Softaculous backups is prohibited and subject to deletion.

2

Excluded Files

To optimize backup speed and reliability, certain temporary, log, and cache files are excluded:

*.log*.tar.gz*.ziptmp/*cache/*error_log.cagefs*.sql*.wpress*.jpaaccess-logs/*public_ftp/*

Reinstatement of Service

Yearly Subscription Required

To reinstate a service, you must restore and renew your existing account for a term of at least 1 year or longer.

The applicable Data Recovery Fee (see Section 3) for retrieval from disaster recovery locations applies to all restorations in addition to Yearly renewal fees.

5

Backups After Account Termination and Refund

If your account is terminated on your request and you receive a refund, the following applies to backups:

We remove backups completely from hot backup storage when an account is closed and a refund is issued. In that case, backups may not be available for restoration.

We can still check cold backup storage for backups. If a backup is available and you wish to restore it, we charge $10 for retrieval and provision when the request is made within 0 to 15 days after termination. After 15 days, the Data Recovery Fees (Section 3 above) apply when a backup is available.
